Dave has been a client of Elite Fitness Downtown since 2014. He is one of our very first members. And I call him Elite’s Godfather!
He has helped Elite especially in the beginning days more times than I can recall.
He works as an engineer and does a lot of sitting. So he came into Elite looking for more mobility.
Dave came down with colon cancer in the beginning of 2024. He went through chemo therapy in April of that year, and amazingly came back to work out the last week of August. That’s 3 month off!!!! Amazing!!!!
This is the kind of resilience that comes when you make fitness your habit. Hi cancer ended up being just a temporary roadblock.
Having a great outlook on life certainly helps, and having built up sweat equity with his workouts, I believe helped him recover and thrive.
Its amazing what the body can do when you treat it right, and when you make fitness a priority. And by the way….Dave is in his 70s!
I know right? amazing!
Dave always understood that working out consistently all these years would pay off. He was never impatient with his result. He always kept a strong work ethics. Always stayed consistent, and never complained.
He knew this is not something you do for a few months or even a just a year. He knows this is something that if you prioritize and make a lifestyle out of, then it will pay you back, just like a sound investment does.
His goal was never to lose weight (such a bad goal marker). His goals were to build & keep this habit going, get strong, more mobility, and more energy.
When you prioritize the right things, this is what happens.
I urge you to get tested for things like cancer regularly. Dave caught his cancer in time, and took action.
